The Asessippi Beach Fast Ball Diamond Committee have determined a need to upgrade the Fastball Diamond at Asessippi Beach and Campground. The diamond was built in the late 1950’s and is dire need of an upgrade to current standards. Asessippi Beach and Campground is home to the Westman Border Fastball Museum and the annual “Kicking Up the Dirt” Ball Tournament.
We have received the Richardson -Pioneer Foundation Grant which allowed us to reach part of our goals. This grant allowed us to level the outfield, grade the infield, build fencing and dugouts.
The Borderline Legends have been awarded the 2025 over 50+ Manitoba Fastball Provincials. The provincials will be held on the weekend of June 13,14,15, 2025
We have a few more project expectations to ensure a successful provincial and have a diamond that all can use from young to old.
In an attempt to raise the rest of the funding, we are offering advertisement banners to be mounted on the homerun fence and baseline fencing. We are also offering backstop padding advertisement.
The banners are 3 ft x 6ft printed on 8 oz mesh material at a cost of $400.00, which includes the cost of the banner and the first year of advertising. Each year after, will be at a cost of $200.00 per year with a two-year commitment.
The backstop padding is 3ft x 8ft printed in bold letter on the sides of the Richardson Pioneer Padding directly behind home plate. Each pad cost $3000.00 for the lifetime of the diamond.
