Keeping with its values of informing the citizens of Langenburg, The Town held its regularly scheduled council meeting on Tuesday evening in the town hall and through Facebook Live.
The council addressed the agenda and previous meetings, accepting these and moving onto accounts payable and bank reconciliation reports.
The town foreman gave a brief report of the town maintenance staff and their activities. Operations are continuing to run with maintenance staff being able to maintain safe social distances while working.
Moving on, the council discussed the contract for the New Swimming Pool Project at length before tabling it for more information. The building request proposals closed yesterday, the council will now review.
The Office report was next on the agenda which discussed the AGM, when it will be held and where it will be advertised before passing the administrators report. Committee minutes were reviewed and accepted as amended.
Moving on to the recreation report, information was passed to the council about the awarding of the “Building Contract” for the New Swimming Pool Project.
The Sanitation Committee reported several questions and concerns over which recycling is accepted or not and will try and find an accurate means to let the ratepayers know what is acceptable and what contaminates the material.
The monthly correspondence was reviewed by the council, before making a motion to accept it. Moving onto new business, the council discussed displaying grad flags and grad banners in detail before deciding to go in-camera.
Langenburg Council streamed their meeting on Facebook Live. This is a great way to allow the public to watch if they wish. It is important to note that during this meeting there were as many as fifteen viewers at one point.
