Saskatchewan RCMP is currently (Wednesday, June 5th) in the Dubuc and Esterhazy area working to locate a male suspect who fled from incidents in Winnipeg and Niverville, MB overnight. The RCMP provided information on this incident the morning of Wednesday, June 5th. There will be an increased police presence in the area.
Saskatchewan RCMP can confirm the suspect fled from the scene of an officer-involved shooting in Niverville, MB.
The suspect, 29-year-old David Burling, is believed to be driving a green 2016 Subaru CrossTrek with MB plate LJB 238. He is described as 5’2” and 190 lbs with black hair and hazel eyes.
Officers continue working to locate the suspect vehicle, which was believed to be travelling westbound on Highway #22, possibly to the Fort Qu’Appelle area.
Investigation then determined the green 2016 Subaru CrossTrek may be travelling in or toward the Yorkton area.
It may now have Manitoba plate LJB 238 or LMJ 710 affixed to it.
Residents in the area are asked to use caution. Do not stop for hitchhikers. Do not approach suspicious persons. Ensure homes and vehicles are locked.
Report suspicious persons, emergencies or info to 9-1-1. Do not disclose police locations.
Updates will be provided as available. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, RCMP will notify the public.
RCMP notified schools in the area to go under a Hold and Secure this afternoon.
