Royal Wood began a 16-stop spring tour on April 26 in Yorkton, SK. On April 29, the tour came to the George Layh Theatre in Langenburg.
Royal Wood provided some insight into their experience during the Langenburg stop of the tour.
What brought you to Langenburg?
I am on a cross provincial tour of Saskatchewan, so we are playing in 15 different cities along the way. I love this place. My wife is from Saskatchewan, so I think of it as a second home.
How was the show? Can you comment about the crowd and the environment?
I loved the crowd’s energy tonight. It felt warm and genuinely inviting.
Is there one moment of the show that stuck out to you the most?
There were many show moments on stage. But I have to say one of the best moments offstage was the catering from Sammy’s Cottage Kitchen. One of the best pre show meals I’ve ever had.
Where are you off to next, and what else would you like to share with our readers?
The next show is in Indian Head at the Grand Theatre. I guess one thing of note is that I covered the 80’s hit “Tainted Love” and it’s being released on May 6th everywhere music is heard.
This will be his Royal Wood’s first Canadian tour in two years. “I couldn’t think of a better place to debut new music and to kick off my first Canadian tour in years than Saskatchewan,” said Wood. “As an artist, I have a long list of great memories here — from performing to sold out crowds at the Broadway Theatre to headlining the Saskatoon Jazz Fest”.
Remaining dates for the tour include:
May 12 — The Bassment (Saskatoon, SK)
May 13 — Event Centre (Swift Current, SK)
May 14 — Majestic Theatre (Biggar, SK)
May 16 — Vic Juba Community Theatre (Lloydminster, AB)
June 11 — Bow Valley Music Club (Calgary, AB)
