On the third Tuesday of each month the Town of Langenburg Council holds their regularly scheduled meeting. Mayor Stasiuk called the recent meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

The council reviewed the agenda before Councillor Sicinski made a motion to accept the agenda; motion carried

Next, the council reviewed the minutes of the last regularly scheduled meeting. Councillor Sicinski made a motion to accept the minutes as amended; motion carried.

Carrying on, the council reviewed the town’s accounts. There was a discussion about the recycling fees for contaminated recycling. Councillor Lundgren made a motion to pay the bills; motion carried.

The council reviewed the Bank Reconciliation on the agenda next. Councillor Popp explained to the rest of the council what was going on in the report before making a motion to accept the bank reconciliation; motion carried.

The council next reviewed the bank summary. Councillor Popp made a motion to adopt the bank summary; motion carried.

Reports 

The Town Forman Report was first to be heard. There are a couple of fire hydrants that need replacing. Trees were trimmed, they added garbage cans to the walking trail, picked up tree branches at the park and dust control was done as well as a lot of spring work around town. Councillor Sicinski made a motion to accept the foreman’s report; motion carried.

The Office Report was next to be reviewed. CAO Lemke requested a motion to accept the tax incentives and Councillor Hunt made the motion; motion carried.

The office staff will be attending an education conference via zoom with a motion by Councillor Hunt; motion carried. Councillor Hunt made a motion to accept the report; motion carried.

Committee Reports

The flooring has been put in at the pool and the project is coming along well. Councillor McDonell moved that her report be carried; motion carried.

The council reviewed and discussed advertising in the Plain & Valley. Councillor Lundgren made a motion to advertise in the Plain & Valley; motion defeated. 

There is a request for a laptop and printer set up for the fire hall after the system went down. Councillor Popp made a motion to pay for this equipment; motion carried. Councillor Sicinski made a motion to move his report; motion carried.

Councillor Popp gave a financial report. The council reviewed his report as Councillor Popp explained it and answered any question the rest of the council had. Councillor Popp made a motion to accept the LCDB audit; motion carried. Councillor Popp made a motion to accept the town audit; motion carried. Councillor Popp made a motion to adopt his report; motion carried.

Councillor Hunt reported to the rest of the council on the employee relations job descriptions that have been updated, as well as the action plan for each position.

The council reviewed the Parkland Regional Library AGM report before Councillor Hunt made a motion to accept the Parkland Library report; motion carried.

Correspondence 

The council reviewed the correspondence received by the town over the last two weeks. The council discussed the possibility of a grad party at the town hall after receiving a request by a grad’s parent. Councillor Lundgren made a motion to decline the request; motion carried.

Councillor Sicinski made a motion to file the correspondence; motion carried.

Old Business

The council reviewed the office repairs that were being looked into. Councillor Lundgren made a motion to go ahead with the town office repairs; motion carried.

The council discussed in length the proposed rest stop gazebo and what council would like to be included in the gazebo. Councillor Popp made a motion to go with the proposed build for the rest stop; motion carried.

New Business 

There was a building permit request by a ratepayer and thus the council had a short discussion on the building permit.

Councillor Sicinski made a motion to adjourn the meeting; motion carried.
