Melinda Park, former resident of Langenburg and current resident of Calgary, is the recipient of another prestigious award. Park was highlighted in the July 2021 edition of Business in Calgary for receiving an award from the 2021 Calgary Influential Women in Business Awards (CIWB), which is organized by Axis Connect; Park received the Professional Services Award.
Park stated, “I have always believed strongly in the creativity that is deeply embedded in the Calgary business psyche. Calgary is having a strong post-pandemic recovery and one of the keys is harnessing the skills and enthusiasm of our young, the ones fairly new to the workforce. They will be the enablers of new and interesting ways of conducting business.”
Melinda has been recognized for other impressive honours as well. In 2018 she was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Women by the Financial Post Magazine.
A February 21st, 2018 article from the Four-Town Journal stated, “Melinda Park, daughter of Irmgard and Ernst Mitterhuber of Langenburg, has been named one of the Financial Post Magazine’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, as selected by the Women’s Executive Network.”
“She is married to Randy Park, son of former Langenburg residents Gordon and Carole Park.” Melinda and Randy have two sons, Kalen and Quinn.
Mrs. Park is quoted in the magazine Business in Calgary as saying, “Women have always been making great contributions to Calgary business for many years and Calgary business is fortunate to have a strong and vibrant source of women – too often ‘under the radar’ and ‘out of the limelight’ – in many industry sectors. The more visible that women become and show themselves as industry leaders, the easier it is to normalize our involvement.”
