Supporting our Community through Small Businesses

Esterhazy, SK – December 10th, 2020 – Today marks just 4 days before we complete our “Operation Holiday Drop” at the St. Anthony’s Hospital. This year has been a tough one for so many people. We are now coming strong into the holiday season and this one will not look like any other we have had before. The consistent warnings about gathering, to stay safe and the news of new cases, rising numbers in hospitals and the strain on our healthcare system. This all echoes as we edge closer to the time many of us look forward to.

We have an amazing community here in Esterhazy! While we may not be able to gather like we used to, many local small and home-based businesses are rallying show their support for the community, the support we have for each other and of course to celebrate the season of giving.

This year we are assembling the largest holiday gift basket for the staff at the St. Anthony’s Hospital. We know what a trying time this has been, and we are so thankful to have this hospital in our community and all the people who work there.

The group initially started with just a thought of donating a few items and a quick facebook post by Danie Titterton. It quickly grew to a dedicated page of about 20+ members, all representing local small businesses in the community. The response was overwhelming! The community spirit and support is alive and well in Esterhazy.

I want to give special thanks to all the amazing community members who were able to take part in this great initiative.
