Once again the steps of the Langenburg Post Office face the jackhammer, for what seems to be its yearly facelift and repair. The main steps to the post office have been barricaded off for a while, but are finally under repair as contractors begin their work this week.
Crumbling and in disrepair, these steps are essential for residents to get into the post office unless they take the ramp.
The contractors started to demolish the steps but quickly realized they needed a bigger jackhammer.
It is estimated that the total repairs to the steps and some additional repairs to the ramp will take approximately a week to complete.
During this time, residents will be asked to use the East stairs and proceed through the post office to retrieve their mail during this time.
