Kathleen Jenson opened the Scare Me Not Haunted Trail 5 miles south of Churchbridge on HWY 80, and 1.5 miles west on the Langenburg grid.

The trail is an outdoor experience through the bush with Halloween spooks and scares. There is a trail set for the general public and a shorter, less spooky trail for younger kids.

Jenson mentioned, “Pick your poison and take a stroll through the haunted forest.  The kiddies will be spooked silly with the child-friendly spectacular spook trail. Are you scare-proof? Those who believe they are brave enough will be left shaking in their boots on the Capital Scare Trail. Do you dare to sit with the witch of the forest and drink her witch’s brew (hot coco) while she takes a look into your soul and reads your palm?”.

The trail is open every Friday from 6 to 9 P.M. and Saturday from 7 to 10 P.M. in October, as well as on the 8th and 29th. Dates and times are subject to change. To stay current with the updates those interested can view the SCARE ME NOT Haunted Trails Facebook page.

Kathleen said, “This is our first year operating, and we will run at dusk and at dark. Let’s keep this fun for all by respecting the rules and the volunteers working tirelessly to make this happen. Please remember, this is pasture land, so please dress appropriately”.

The spooky trail is located just outside of Churchbridge and the cost is $10/person, with those 5 years and under being free. Cash is appreciated.

Jenson clarified, “I’m located 5 miles south of Churchbridge on HWY 80, and 1.5 miles west on the Langenburg grid, also right across from Yellowhead Traders. I will have signs up before each event. If you don’t mind gravel and coming down HWY 16 from the west you can take Liscard Road just west of Churchbridge, 5 miles south you will come to a yield sign, then turn east, go another .5 miles and you will see the lights on the hill for the event”.

Visitors can expect to see strategically set props down a windy trail, dimly lit with entertaining sights and unexpected scares throughout. “The daylight shows the beauty of the fall colours and the darkness of night will set you on edge. I attempted to keep the scenery as natural as possible,” Jenson said.

At the end of the 1250ft trail there is a witch reading cards, doing palm readings and drinking hot coco.

Kathleen was inspired to create the trail as she has always enjoyed setting up for Halloween, especially doing Halloween realistic makeup/cosplay. “For years I could visualize the potential of doing an outdoor trail where I’m located and finally this year I chose to make it happen. I find enjoyment in offering entertainment for people to enjoy, and this feeds my creative side as well. It was hard work setting up since it’s my first go, but thankfully, I had great help and I can already visualize the expansion for next year”.
