Last Sunday, the Laketown Players began rehearsals for their annual Dinner Theatre. The play, another original by local playwright Stephen Farquharson, is titled “The Boys at Sunset”.  This is the 16th production for the Laketown Players, raising money for many worthwhile community projects. This year’s play is sponsored by The Four-Town Journal.

The play is quite light hearted and moves along quickly with lots of laughs and some interesting staging and sets. The plot revolves around a marathon, and some of the very unlikely participants. It’s another multi-generational cast that will be sure to entertain their audiences!

There are four performances from Feb. 1-4. The three Dinner Theatres will feature Saltcoats’ famous roast beef, and the Dessert Theatre on Sunday will be hosted by the YFBTA. Profits from this year’s play will help support the Town Hall and the Regional Park as well as a few other groups. Tickets are on sale ($55 for Dinner Theatre and $35 for Dessert Theatre) and make great Christmas gifts! Call Les or Shirley Pearson at 1-306-716-6564 to book your tickets.
