Paying-it-forward brings people together and somehow has its way of bringing joy to those we may not even know personally.
A few years ago, the Griffin family applied for TeleMiracle funding to purchase a wheelchair conversion for the van on behalf of Adam Griffin.
Adam’s mom, Jocelyn Griffin, stated, “In 2018 we received funding from TeleMiracle for a wheelchair conversion to our van. We were gifted just shy of $24,000 for the conversion.”
She continued, “The converted van has dramatically improved our lives. There are several benefits to having the van over a traditional vehicle, one of which is Adam’s safety. Prior to having our van we were at risk of injuring him every time he was lifted in and out of the vehicle. When putting Adam into the van he can roll right in, eliminating the risk to his limbs while transferring. We are also able to keep our son out of the elements. We no longer are spending time getting him in and out of his wheelchair out in the cold air. This has also changed how long it takes for us to get everywhere we go. Saving time on all our everyday activities is very valuable to us as a family.”
This year Adam’s birthday occurred during TeleMiracle. Since the family has been so blessed by Tele Miracle, Jocelyn wanted to bring awareness to the great Saskatchewan Charity.
Jocelyn Griffin, Adam’s mom was so thankful towards TeleMiracle that she felt compelled to raise funds for TeleMiracle as a celebration of Adam’s 8th birthday.
On February 27, Jocelyn started a fundraiser trying to help raise awareness for those who TeleMiracle has helped and set a $1000 goal.
At editing time there are 119 days left on the fundraiser and that $1000.00 goal has been left in the dust; it’s an astounding $2845. Let’s keep it going to help the Griffin family, and especially Adam, show how happy they are with the freedom that they received when they received their wheelchair conversion.
