Mayor Jeremy Stasiuk called the regularly scheduled council meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. April 20, 2021 with all members present.
The council recruited the agenda as presented, Councillor Sicinski made the motion to accept the agenda as amended; motion carried.
Next, the council reviewed the minutes of the last meeting. Councillor Popp made a motion to accept the minutes; motion carried.
Carrying on, the council reviewed the Town Accounts. After a short discussion, Councillor MacDonell made a motion to pay the town’s bills; motion carried.
The council heard the town foreman’s report. The foreman gave his report to the council letting them know what the maintenance crew has been doing. He explained that the new grader has arrived, the new pump for the transfer station has arrived and will be installed right away, and also that there are snow piles on some places but the crews will not be moving them due to making a mess of lawns. Councillor Hunt made a motion to accept the foreman’s report; motion carried.
The council reviewed and passed the Borrowing Bylaw unanimously; motion carried with a final motion by Councillor Hunt.
The Office Report was next to be heard. CAO Lemke gave her report to the council saying there is a request for a temporary building to be placed as a house is being constructed. Having a possible virtual ratepayers meeting was discussed. Councillor Sicinski made a motion to accept the official report; motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
The council discussed the upcoming budget and where all the funding will come from to cover the expenses. Councillor Popp made a motion to set the mill rate at 6.6; motion carried. Councillor Popp made a motion to have the base tax set at $1000; motion carried.
