Please Read Carefully

Skate Esterhazy has been busy preparing for the 2021/2022 skating season. We are excited to offer our CanSkate and StarSkate programs. We have made some changes to Canskate times to accommodate our skaters with switching from 1 hour of canskate to 45-minute sessions. You will notice a change in price reflecting this.

CanSkate will continue to run on Monday and Thursday from 6:15-7 with the only option being a two-day program.

Bridging Children who qualify (skill level and ability to learn/focus) can do bridging. This is an introduction to StarSkate. Members are offered 1 day/week (Wednesday) to do bridging, while continuing two days of Canskate. On the Wednesday they would come to Star Skate ice for 1 hour, with the option to stay the entire session (2hours) At any time, if the skill level accommodates your child may be asked by the coach if they would like to attend StarSkate in place of CanSkate.

StarSkate & CompetitiveSkate registration process has been simplified and the new fees reflect some of the changes in the new season. Skaters will purchase a package according to their skating level and choose their preferred skating days for their private or shared lesson; these lessons are billed monthly to the skater. Skaters are also welcome to come out on any day for extra practice at no extra cost. This adds up to even more value for the skater.

Two other changes impact all programs.  Skate Canada has raised the membership fee for all programs. This fee covers costs for the insurance for all Skate Canada members as well as other costs. Skate Canada-Saskatchewan has changed its fundraising obligations. In the recent past, clubs were obligated to sell Skater Lottery Tickets to help fund programming (Rising Star, Black Boots, seminars, skater development, provincial competitions, etc.) Moving forward, the section will collect a fundraising levy in lieu of mandatory ticket sales. The Skaters Lottery will continue as a voluntary fundraiser. All profits from the Skaters Lottery will go back to the clubs. Club payback will be shared 50/50 for ticket books completely sold by skater/skater family.

We are pleased to welcome Shallen Bear to our club, who will take on the CanSkate part mostly, working alongside Mackenzie and Madeline. Skate Esterhazy is excited to see her join our team with her uplifting and outgoing attitude. She is working toward her coaching certification.

Reminder all registration fees MUST be paid by October 15. The skate Canada fee $73.85 needs to be paid before the skater can be on the ice. (Which is included in the registration fee)

Due to COVID-19 and unforeseen circumstances to the club, Skate Esterhazy will not be issuing a refund for any lost time due to the pandemic for the 2021-2022 season. However, we are issuing rebates for missed CanSkate time during the 2020-2021 season towards this year’s registration fees. If you had a child in CanSkate last season, please email skate.esterhazy@outlook.com to get your rebate amount. (This must be used only for 2021-2022 season.

Skate Esterhazy is dedicated to keeping the sport of skating alive and well. Have a great season and bring a friend.
