The Sandilands family legacy in rodeo runs deep, and Kage Sandilands, a local resident of Esterhazy, SK, has proven that he is no exception. In a spectacular display of skill and determination, Kage has dominated the 2023/2024 High School Rodeo season, capturing multiple championships and earning himself a spot on the national and Canadian stages.

Competing under the banner of the Manitoba High School Rodeo Association, Kage’s prowess was on full display at the provincials, where he clinched an impressive four buckles. His victories spanned across various disciplines, as he secured titles in Breakaway, Chute Dogging, Goat Tying, and was crowned the All-Around Boys Junior Champion.

But Kage’s success didn’t stop there. His stellar performances throughout the season also earned him top honors as the Year End Champion in Chute Dogging and Breakaway Roping. Additionally, he claimed the Reserve Champion title in Team Roping alongside his skilled partner, Stetson Ameel.

These outstanding achievements have catapulted Kage Sandilands onto the national stage. He is set to compete at the National Junior High School Finals in Des Moines, Iowa, from June 23rd to 29th, 2024, where he will showcase his talents in three events. Following this, Kage will turn his focus to the Canadian High School Finals in Brandon, MB, scheduled for July 31st to August 3rd, 2024, where he will participate in an impressive five events.

Kage attributes his success to hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of his family, friends, and community. As he prepares for these upcoming competitions, the entire town of Esterhazy eagerly anticipates cheering on their hometown rodeo star on the national and Canadian stages.
