A great day for golf proved to be a great day for Churchbridge thanks to the annual Kevin Kaminski Charity Golf Classic on Saturday, August 3.

A total of 109 golfers took part in the tournament hosted by Kaminski as part of his on-going contributions to his hometown. The former NHL player and now head coach of the LaRonge Ice Wolves of the SJHL has been hosting the popular tournament at Antler Acres Golf Course since 1995.

Proceeds from the tournament as well as auctions and other draws held as part of it will go this year to replacing playground equipment at the Churchbridge Public School. The actual amount raised will be announced once all of the expenses and revenues have been finalized.

Adding to those revenues this year was a Friday evening show by comedian Kelly Taylor which had a full house in the Churchbridge Community Centre in stitches thanks to his hilarious Saskatchewan-oriented comedy routine.
