In November of 2021, Tajinder Pal Singh (otherwise known as TJ) gained ownership of Saltcoats ESSO. Under the company name of Eminent

Canada, Tajinder has plans to get involved in the community events and help the community however possible.

Tajinder mentioned, “We are already

helping the Saltcoats Snowmobile Derby. I would also like to participate as a sponsor/volunteer to any of the events happening across the towns.”

He has a retail business background

after working with Bell as an area sales manager in Saskatchewan for 8 years. “I have taken care of over 12 stores throughout the province and have overachieved my sales targets. Also, I was on the other side, working on different projects. One time I met with

the previous owners for another business of theirs in Yorkton. He did mention being the owner of gas stations too, so I curiously asked him if I could visit his station once, which he agreed upon. When I visited, I observed the people are nice around the town

and also have seen potential. Thereafter, I started having conversations with the previous owner about buying it. It was not easy, it was a roller coaster ride up until I took it over in November 2021. Since then I have made numerous changes in the outlook

of the store and also have made many new editions in it.”

Tajinder has some exciting events coming

up soon as we get closer to summer time. “We have come up with numerous new products already in the store, like frozen veggies, some healthy snack options, frozen entrees and many more. Also, I will keep on adding with each visit. Being a father of 2, I totally

agree with healthy snack options. As promised for getting produce, we are coming up with something to start with. My plans are to make this store as a one-stop-shop, so that the community does not have to drive to Yorkton for their daily necessities.”

The new Saltcoats ESSO owner mentioned

he is extremely overwhelmed with the warm welcome from the community. “I would like to thank everyone for supporting the locals. People are really candid and helpful with their honest feedback to help me extend.”
