Langenburg Central School Staff & Families,

Good Spirit School Division and Langenburg Central School Administration met to review the large number of positive cases reported. The decision has been made to move all Grade 8-12 classes to remote instruction.

All Grade 8 to 12 classes will be cancelled on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Mandatory remote instruction will occur for Grade 8 to 12 students beginning on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, to Friday, January 28, 2022. Tentative face-to face instruction will resume on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. The remote instruction end date will be reviewed on Friday, January 28, 2022; further communication will be provided at the end of that day.

Classroom teachers will take attendance at the beginning of each class, starting on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. If students are unable to join the virtual class, please report the absence as you normally would. The LCS Administration will continue tracking all positive COVID-19 results, therefore ensure that this information is shared with the school in a timely fashion.

Classes for Prekindergarten to Grade 7 will resume, as usual, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

All LCS extra-curricular activities will be paused on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, to Friday, January 28, 2022. The return

of extra-curricular activities will be decided on Friday, January 28, 2022.

External user groups will be restricted from accessing Langenburg Central School. The Fitness Center will be off limits to all users until Saturday, January 29, 2022.

The SHA would like our help with continuing to do our part in stopping the spread of COVID-19 by following Provincial regulations and encouraging all students and staff to remain at home when showing the slightest symptom of COVID-19.

This decision was made with good intentions in mind…to keep students and staff safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Quintin Robertson

Director of Education/CEO Good Spirit School Division No. 204
