At the annual Saskatchewan Economic Development Alliance’s (SEDA) conference, the Town of Langenburg

was awarded the Marketing Innovation Award from the SEDA Awards of Excellence under the population of 10,000.

This award highlights economic development success and marketing initiatives that support economic prosperity in a community or region. The award was presented to Lina Petkeviciene, Economic Development Officer at the Town of Langenburg, who leads economic development and marketing initiatives in this community.

Upon receiving the award, sponsored by Flexnetworks, Lina said, “Thank you very much for this award. Personally, this award is recognition for all the marketing efforts over the past couple of years to highlight this attractive community and bring attention to everything that it has to offer…We rebranded our town, we completely updated our website, we created a community profile, an investment profile, brochures for visitors and new residents, we invested lots into our social media accounts, ran lots of marketing campaigns such as #movetolangenburg, #shoplocallangenburg, #peopleoflangenburg and much more.”

Lina wanted to thank everyone who helped to reach this milestone. She mentioned how thankful she is to the co-worker Town of Langenburg Recreation Director Juli Mitschke who helped and supported her in every step and all the community who actively participated, supported, and shared all the community information with others.

Matthew Murray with Flexnetworks who presented the award said “On behalf of Flexnetworks, I am pleased to present this award to the Town of Langenburg for a comprehensive marketing strategy targeted for both residential and industry attraction. A well-designed and attractive website anchors a clearly stated indication to leave the city and move to the country…Growing Langenburg’s face of world-class industries is the focus of a digital investment in Langenburg profile spotlighting comprehensive advantages in the key economic sectors of mining, agriculture, light-industrial, and specialty retail. A complimentary community profile provides a comprehensive overview of all things local and is available in digital, print, and an associated video overview of the town. It is clear that this rural community of 1,700 means business. I am pleased to extend my congratulations to the Town of Langenburg on a well-designed and executed economic development marketing program.”
