This winter the Kevin Kaminski arena in Churchbridge will be the place to be on the weekends. The Churchbridge Imperials have been granted a conditional franchise in the Saskatchewan East Hockey League. For the first time in over a decade senior hockey will return to the community.

The club is currently searching for players, coaches, management, sponsors and volunteers for the upcoming season. All of those will need to be in place prior to the club officially being voted into the league at the AGM. If you are interested in being part of the potential return of the Imperials you are encouraged to message the Churchbridge Imperials Senior Hockey Club on Facebook.

Last season Cole Cusitar gauged the community for interest and recent news about a potential return has the community excited. “Having a team back in town is gonna be fantastic! Imperial alumni Jonathan Jensen says. “We’ve had really good reception from everyone so far. Everyone is excited to have senior in town again.”

Nine teams finished last season in the SEHL. The Langenburg Warriors, Canora Cobras, Ituna Avalanche, Rocanvile Tigers, Swan Valley Axemen, Grandview Comets, Wapella Blackhawks, Cote Selects and the league champion Theodore Buffalos.
